Car Accidents in Oklahoma on

Del City, OK (July 7, 2019) – A disabled man was somehow able to walk away from a living center in Del City on Sunday, July 7th, at which point he was sadly struck and injured by a vehicle that fled the scene. According to authorities, the incident took place in the vicinity of Southeast 22nd Street and South Bryant Avenue.

Police stated that 27-year-old Torian Wright, who suffers from both cerebral palsy and autism, was able to simply walk right out the front door of the Reliant Living Center around 3:00 a.m. A driver stopped to help Wright after seeing him standing in the middle of South Bryant Avenue and called the police after noticing that the man was injured.

Officers responded to the scene and transported Wright to OU Medical Center, where he was treated for lacerations to his jaw and other head injuries. Authorities determined that he had been struck by the side mirror of a vehicle that left the area immediately afterward. An investigation into both the living center and the driver involved is being conducted at this time.

Our deepest sympathies are extended to the victim and his loved ones as we remain hopeful for Torian Wright’s full recovery.
