Oklahoma City, OK (May 19, 2019) – According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials, a woman tragically lost her life after either jumping or falling onto Interstate 44 early on Sunday morning, May 19. Police stated that the incident occurred at around 2:15 a.m. for unknown reasons.

Following a preliminary investigation into the incident, a woman was confirmed to have died after she ended up on the highway. The woman was determined to have died from injuries that stemmed from sudden impact, although it is unclear as to whether or not the cause of death was from the fall or being struck by a vehicle.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time as authorities are looking to notify loved ones. The investigation into this incident is searching to establish whether this was an accident or a suicide. The incident took place in the eastbound lanes of I-44 at Northwest 10th Street and forced the closure of the roadway for approximately five hours.
