Ponco City, OK (August 23, 2019) – Around 2 p.m. on August 12, emergency crews and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Waverly Street.
According to reports, 23-year-old Trenton Riff was riding north along Waverly Street, on a bicycle, when he was struck from behind by a 2017 Chevy Equinox just south of South Avenue.
Riff was ejected from his bicycle and thrown over-top the vehicle.
Riff incurred serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities later confirmed that Riff succumbed to his injuries several days later.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the OHP.
