Poteau, OK (July 27, 2019) – On Friday morning, July 27th, a fatal car crash was reported to have happened in the town of Poteau. Police responded to the incident in the northbound lanes of the Cavanal Scenic Expressway, south of the North Broadway/Ben Klutts Avenue off-ramp.

A preliminary investigation showed that Bobby Farrar, 74, of Cameron, was traveling south in a red 2000 Ford F-150. The truck veered into the northbound lane where a black 2008 black Chevrolet 3500 was hauling an unloaded gooseneck trailer. The operator of the 3500 saw the F-150 and swerved right into the outside lane.

According to police, the two trucks collided on their driver sides, and the F-150 continued south before colliding with the trailer. Firefighters and EMS responded to the crash, where Farrar was pronounced deceased. The unidentified driver of the 3500 was transported to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.

Our deepest condolences are extended to the loved ones of Bobby Farrar at this time. We also offer our sincere sympathies to the injured party and their family.
