Tulsa, OK (June 21, 2019) – On June 20th, at approximately 6:40 p.m., emergency crews and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44.
According to reports, a 2011 Honda Accord and a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer rig collided on the interstate just east of 129 East Avenue.
The driver of the Accord, who was later identified as 26-year-old Austyn Schmidt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The occupants of the tractor-trailer were uninjured.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
