
Yukon, OK – Man Killed in Accident on I-40 at Garth Brooks Blvd
Car Accidents in Oklahoma on July 4, 2019Yukon, OK (July 4, 2019) – Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reported one man dead in a terrible accident that took place in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 4th. The crash happened just around 9:05 a.m. on Interstate 40 near the intersection with Garth Brooks Blvd.
The deceased, a man named Kenneth E. Stoner, was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima east on I-40 when the vehicle hydroplaned into the railing at Garth Brooks Blvd, stopping in the center lane. At this time, a 2012 Ford F-250 was coming over the incline and was unable to stop. The Ford struck the Altima, pushing the vehicle for 325 feet until coming to a rest on top of the vehicle.
Stoner was trapped inside the vehicle for nearly two hours. He was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.
No occupants of the F-250 were injured.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by local authorities.
