Canton, OK (August 13, 2019) – On August 11th, around 5:15 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Oklahoma Highway 51, just three miles west of Canton.
Reports from OHP indicate that 60-year-old Jack Lewis Hicks was traveling east on OK-51 on a 1999 Harley-Davidson when he was struck by a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, which was driven by 37-year-old Robert Roy Morris.
Morris was traveling westbound when his vehicle crossed over the center lines for unknown reasons.
Hicks incurred serious injuries and was transported to Okeene Municipal Hospital, where he was later transferred from to OU Medical Center in critical condition.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
