Durant, OK (June 2, 2019) – On Thursday afternoon, May 30th, a 10-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle along 4th Street. The child was reported to have been riding his bike with a friend when he was struck while attempting to turn onto Main Street.
According to authorities, the child was coasting along 4th Street and was unable to stop when he was struck by a car. The impact pushed the child several feet across the roadway. Emergency medical responders were called to the scene, where they airlifted the child to a Dallas hospital.
The victim has been listed in stable condition at this time; however, he suffered broken bones, a skull fracture, and bleeding in the brain as a result of the accident. The events that led to this collision are under investigation.
