Okmulgee, OK (June 5, 2019) – On June 5, just after 1:40 a.m., Okmulgee Police Department responded to the scene of a pedestrian hit and run accident on 1st Street and Oklahoma Avenue.

According to reports, witnesses found a woman severely injured lying in the roadway. The woman was screening in agony. Evidence at the scene of the incident indicates that the victim was struck by a motor vehicle, which fled the scene.

The injured woman was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
