Checotah, OK (June 6, 2019) – On June 3rd, just after 8:30 a.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a two-car collision on County Road EW1140.
Reports from the incident show that 77-year-old Lois Smith was traveling west on County Road EW1140 in a 2016 Lincoln MKX behind 72-year-old Brenda Sinyard in a 2005 Pontiac Vibe.
Sinyard slowed down to make a left turn in the roadway, but Smith failed to yield. As a result, Smith swerved left to avoid hitting Sinyard. Smith ended up striking the driver’s side door of Sinyard’s vehicle.
Sinyard was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa with unknown injuries following the collision.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Sinyard at this time.
