Kingfisher, OK (August 2, 2019) – On August 1, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Oklahoma 33 around 7 a.m.
Reports from the incident indicate that 25-year-old Brett Conway Cox was traveling west along Oklahoma 33 in a 2012 Chevy pickup. As Cox traveled down the roadway, he fell asleep behind the wheel. As a result, Cox’s vehicle collided with the trailer on the back of a 2018 Ram Pickup, which was driven by 27-year-old Francisco J. Guzman. The impact of the collision sent Cox’s vehicle into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by a 2015 Chevy Equinox driven by 54-year-old Janice Marie Fuksa.
Cox sustained injuries in the collision and was transported by a friend to Mercy Kingfisher for treatment. Fuksa was transported from the scene by EMS to McBride Orthopedic for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
