Mccurtain County, OK – Misty Barrick Killed In US Highway 70 Crash

Mccurtain County, OK (August 19, 2019) – On August 17th, at approximately 11:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on US Highway 70 just 1.6 miles east of Valliant.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling westbound along US Highway 70 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed over the center lines and collided with an eastbound vehicle.

The impact of the collision caused the westbound vehicle to come to rest in the roadway, while the eastbound vehicle departed the road along the south side.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, who was identified as 44-year-old Misty Barrick, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the westbound vehicle was injured and transported to an area hospital.

At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
