Stigler, OK – Three People Injured Following Collision at IntersectionCar Accidents in Oklahoma on August 18, 2019
Stigler, OK (August 17, 2019) – Three people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash that took place on Thursday night, August 15th. The collision occurred at the intersection of State Highway 9 and 71 in Stigler, Haskell County.
According to authorities, Feliciano Rosas, 58, of Katy, TX, was heading east on SH 9 in a 2011 Freightliner when his vehicle went through a stop sign. Rosas struck the driver’s side of a 2004 Ford pickup truck being operated by John D. Thompson, 55, of Stigler.
Thompson was subsequently pinned inside his vehicle following the impact of the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and extricated Thompson within about 20 minutes. He was then airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.
A passenger in Thompson’s vehicle, Steven D. Ishcomer, 54, of Oklahoma City, was transported to McAlester Hospital, where he has since been released. One other passenger, identified as Virginia F. Hodge, 52, of Ada, was also taken to McAlester Hospital, where she too has been released. Rosas was uninjured in the collision.
Police are investigating the conditions of the drivers involved at the time of the accident.
